It all started when…
When life is complicated, you can rely on Colpi to keep things perfectly simple. Our traditional, single-flavour ice cream captures the sweet taste of purity.
Today our ice cream continues to be made freshly everyday to the original, heritage recipe; unchanged and unadulterated.
In a traditional process handed down from father to son since the Italian immigration to Scotland in the 1890’s, pure ingredients are transformed into iced perfection. The simple quality of our natural ingredients is at the heart of that special Colpi taste; above all, fresh whole milk from the banks of Loch Lomond.
Our ice cream has been made on-site at our Milngavie shop ever since Rodolfo Colpi first opened for business back in 1928. Each small batch of finished ice cream is stripped and lifted into its Colpi-blue tubs in the front of the shop right before our customers’ eyes, in a performance that never fails to delight.
